CHR Chairperson Richard Palpal-latoc is welcomed by PBGEN Lou Frias Evangelista during his visit to the Philippine National Police on 22 August 2024.

In their meeting, both agencies discussed action points on strengthening their collaboration through integration of human rights principles during operations and enhancement of human rights protection in conflict areas.

Chairperson Palpal-latoc also emphasized CHR's initiative in providing mental health trainings for the security sector.

This courtesy call was part of the Region I leg of "Lakbay Karapatan Tungo sa Kamalayan" (LaKarAn), the flagship human rights education program of the CHR Chairperson. The event was organized in collaboration with CHR Region I and supported by the CHR Human Rights Education and Promotion Office (HREPO), CHR Planning and Management Office (PMO), and the Governance in Justice - The Human Rights Component, co-funded by the European Union in the Philippines, and AECID Philippines.
